I am working on a Dam Failure Analysis and attempting to utilize HEC-GeoRAS with ArcGIS (version 9.3.1). The actual stream length is over 10 miles long and in order to import the stream alignment into HEC-GeoRAS, you must digitize the alignment in ArcGIS. This involves re-drawing the entire 10 miles of stream in ArcGIS snapping from node to node. Does anyone know a faster way of completing this process?

thanks

You can copy the whole alignement (shape file) and rename it correctly (Stream Centerline = "River" by defaults I think) so HEC-geoRAS recognize it.

You can also use a command in Arc GIS to snap to the stream without having to click on every node. I think it's in the menu advanced Editor (I can't recall).

Hope this might help.
