I would appreciate very much if you could tell me how to get lost flow to return to a downstream section. I'm getting extremely frustrated, the connect to river station doesn't work so I set up a junction and modeled the right o.b. where the flows go which did not work either. I have tried setting a flow change at the DS section, but it wants to use the reduced flow from US section at the lower end of the split flow. The documentation is not helpful.

This used to be so easy in HEC-2, all I had to do was dial in SNOFER, why did they have to break it?!?!?!

A few suggestions:

First, do you have the latest Version of HEC-RAS? I believe it is Ver. 3.01

Second, do you have the full documentation? All three volumes including examples.

Third, there is a user Forum sponsored by Boss International at this URL:
Fourth, I've had some luck contacting Vern Bonner at HEC UC Davis. Here is that URL:
Fifth, if you need to talk with some experts try Jeff Bradley at West Consultants. They are the western regional contractors for FEMA in the 10 western states, I believe.

Good Luck,

Assuming that you have you model already built, go the the RUN / STEADY FLOW / OPTIONS / FLOW OPTIMIZATIONS / click the lateral weir tab then click the YES box. This should do it. Additionally, if the only flow in the river down stream of the lateral weir is from the lateral weir you may try putting an initial Q of 1 on that river. this will start the flow then it will add the weir flow.
