I am wondering if anyone has ever experienced a project where a heelblock must be placed on a very soft organics stratum.

Tie-backs are not an option here. What is recommended here? Support the heelblocks on helical piles? Has anyone ever just placed the heelblocks on the organics, since this is just a temporary condition.

This is for a soldier pile-lagging wall with walers, kickers, and heelblocks.

Total excavated height is about 10 feet only. I know that you can achieve a cantilever wall for a 10-feet excavation but we are picking up the job from another engineer who did not properly size the soldier piles, and they have already been installed unfortunately.

Thank you :)
