In one of the offshore platform, the heli fuel transfer from the tote tanks to the helicopter, we have a Heli fuel package . As this being mounted on the top deck of the Living Quarters, the safety aspects of this package is being reviewed critically.
Client insists to have flow transmitters on the suction line of this helifuel transfer pumps to avoid dry runnning of the pump. Similarly in the pumping system ( sliding vane pumps) vendor has not considered an external relief valve but have an internal relief valve. Also client insists the complete operation has to be automated and no manual intervention . It means they want to have only one operator for the entire re-fuelling operation.
