Hi,
You'd better show us what's your problems.I think there could be two key problems, one about the path, another about the section.Right?

Zedomonte, your current input would be helpful...or atleast the /prep7 portion of it. What is being problematic exactly? Are you trying to drag an area about a spline for this? More details are needed.

My main problem is to on how to create the helix (keypoints and lines)in order to model the spring. If I use splines I´m unable to close the spring and the helix is not perfect it diferes from coil to coil.

Thanks

Hi,
try to look back into this very forum in order to find out an old thread where this topic was extensively discussed. I remember that the helix was used for an electrical coil, but I can't remember the thread title.

Hi again,
I've found it! see thread 569-124712.
Drej's answer contains two APDLs in order to obtain what you need. The thread also extends about dimension units because it's very important to understand which are the values you input into the macros, otherwise you won't get any coil...

Regards

Thanks cbrn, your posts helped alot. I'm going to try all the macros and I will let you know, but that was just what I needed.
