Hi, Everyone and thanks in advance for any and all help.

Someone came to me and asked me about how to create windings around an irregular shaped core. The core will be rectangular but with chamfered corners. So it will have 8 flat sides. I suspect a helical sweep has to be the answer, but I don't do HS very often and the ones I've done have been pretty simple winding about a round core. How would you place windings around an irregular shape like I've described?

Thanks again, SrG.

SrG,

Try intersecting two quilts.

See the link at the bottom for the part file created in WF5.

Good luck,

Steve
