Why is the helix tool so cryptic and hard to use? I see that it is very powerful, however I am not a mathematical. Is there a plan to revamp the helix tool with say a dummies menu and an advanced menu. Dummies menu would include: start point, axis, angle, pitch, and length. Advanced would include all of the law curves and what not.

Hi,
What version of NX you are on? Significant enhancements have been done in this dialog for past some releases.
As far as the dialog layout is considered then you can use SAVE FAVORITE to access different dialog layouts as per the user expertise level (attaching an image herewith).

Hi Kapil,

I could find only two options Helix (less), Helix (more) but not Helix law in my NX 8.5.0.23 version, any suggestions?

Thanks, new to NX8.5

Hi Raj,
Yes you can also use HIDE COLLAPSED GROUP to filter out the groups in the dialog also. You will get this option from the same place you get the SAVE FAVORITE.
Best Regards

So it looks like I will have to wait until the upgrade. Thanks

How do you get the Save Favorite option? I have a copy of NX 8.0 as well and don't see that anywhere. It is only 8.5?

While a dialog is open, just select the little 'gear' icon in the dialog header, as shown below:

Note that this will only work with the new style dialogs which means that for NX 8.0 you can't use this on the Helix dialog since it didn't get it's refresh until NX 8.5.
