Hello,

At our waster water treatment plant- in the filter tank, we have 4" and 6" PVC drain pipe penetration in the 8" thick concrete wall. PVC sleeves embedded in the concrete wall. Any suggestion to plug the PVC pipe penetration? process environments is secondary effluent. See attached

Thank you in advance for sharing your thought!!!

Regards,

R

I suggest contacting a technical sales rep at one of the companies that makes concrete patching materials. Sika is one, but there are several others.

Thank you all for quick reply.
HotRod10, I have place the request to Sika. Would you share other manufactures name?
I also approached Chem-Cret pipe plug product. looks promising but don't sure it is the reliable solution.

thanks

I'd contact a large materials testing lab, such as at a DOT and check out cement grouts with some bentonite in the mix. the bentonite not only seals but it expands some. Also check with this association, since they know about bentonite uses.

The only producer we've had contact with is Sika, but a web search turns up a few others. Products such as hydraulic or expansion cement may be options.

A hydrophilic polyurethane resin product might also be an option. Prime Resins is a company we dealt with once. Sika also has products of this type. I maintain a technical rep. is still your best source for a solution.

Is there any reason for the PVC to remain? Are these being permanently closed/filled? Why not remove the PVC and use a damp-pack non-shrink grout? Sika or BASF/Master Builders

How about a concrete "curb" type covering over and filling the holes? Lose a little storage, but much easier than filling those holes one at a time. Bond to the old wall using the bonding technique for concrete pavement overlay.

JedClampett, yours is probably the best idea I've seen for this. Also the likely the cheapest and easiest.

Thank you all . This is what I like about this group. After so many hours I spend on Google, I could not find SHC 40 PVC plug. Thank You to JedClampett.
Good Day...
