Hello,
I am trying to create a 2-D model of a bridge on Abaqus. My problem is that I want create a connector which would connect the piers with the main and the rear parts of the deck. For instance, I want to create a connector which will connect the left column with the left rear deck and a connector that would connect the left column with the main deck. The problem is that these parts meet in the same point in the model and as a result when I create the wire (that will act as the connector) I cannot define which is the point 1 and the point 2 of the wire.

Is there a way in which I will choose that the node I chose belongs to the left column or the main deck for example?

That was easy indeed.. The reason is that I just started to use Abaqus.

Now when I am trying to run the job one of the warnings I have has to do with the connectors mentioned above. The warning indication is the following. Do you know how can I fix that?

"The initial distance between the nodes of connector element 5 (assembly) type axial is zero or very small. This may lead to convergence problems in the increments when this distance remains zero or small since the direction between the two nodes is indeterminate.please consider placing the connector nodes at a nonzero distance. Alternatively you can specify an orientation at the first node of the connector to establish a direction when the two nodes are very close to each other."

Found it..!! Used wrong type of connector..!!! Thank you very much anyway...!!!
