hello,

im using solidworks macros to print our "standart" designs.

my situation:

i push the record/pauze macro button.
i open the main assembly drawing and start printing every drawing that's related to the main assembly.
then i push the record/pauze macro button again to stop it.
i then get the option to save it. (i save it as the same name as the main assembly on our server.)
simple right?

when i look in the edit program feature. i cant find any things related to switching to the right printer and paper size, i did do this while i was recording the macro.

When a colleague starts my macro, it doesn't use the right printer.
what am i doing wrong!?

thanks for any help

Recording macros does not always capture all of the actions. Recording also captures actions in a way that is usually inefficient and in a way that does not translate well to use with other files.

Making print commands in a macro is tricky business even for experienced programmers.

Good luck.

Thank you for your response,

When i use the macro to print our design it works perfect (i made the macro on my pc). how ever, if my colleague uses it (other pc) it wont use the right printer or wont print the desired design at all.
really weird!?

Jack, that is not weird at all. As The Tick hinted, a printer on a network does not identify the same way to different work stations. The simple way is to compose the macro on your colleague's PC and run it from there. Otherwise, you'll have to learn the programming language to write code to select printer and paper sizes.

A computer is like a woman. You may know how to push all the right buttons on one, but try the same on another one and you're bound to get slapped.
