Who can help me? I almost lost my way!
Who can help me find out the Ss, S1, TL value in the ASCE 7-05 standard. I try to solve it using the steps in Section 11.4 by myself, but it seems quite difficult for me to finish it, so i need your help! your early reply will be great appreciated! The following is the condition.
Seismic Code (Ground Supported):
a) Vertical Accelerations: Leave this box unchecked to find the Vertical Acceleration as per ASCE 7-05
b) Site Class: E
c) Importance factor: Vessels handling LNG, Importance Factor shall be 1.5. For all other vessels the importance factor is 1.0
d) Ss : The PROJECT SITE is located in : Mississippi Sound, southeast of the mouth of the Bayou Casotte Harbor in Jackson County, Mississippi. You can use GOOGLE Maps to locate the place, then use the appropriate value as per the Figures in ASCE 7-05. Based on the figure that I have, my estimate is 12%g. Shanghai Morimatsu should verify this as per figures in the ASCE 7-05.
e) S1 : The PROJECT SITE is located in : Mississippi Sound, southeast of the mouth of the Bayou Casotte Harbor in Jackson County, Mississippi. You can use GOOGLE Maps to locate the place, then use the appropriate value as per the Figures in ASCE 7-05. Based on the figure that I have, my estimate is 5.2%g. Shanghai Morimatsu should verify this as per figures in the ASCE 7-05.
f) Response Modification Coefficient R : Vertical Vessels:2.5 and Horizontal Vessels: 3.0
g) Long Period transition period : The PROJECT SITE is located in : Mississippi Sound, southeast of the mouth of the Bayou Casotte Harbor in Jackson County, Mississippi. You can use GOOGLE Maps to locate the place, then use the appropriate value as per the Figures in ASCE 7-05. Based on the figure that I have, the value is 12. Shanghai Morimatsu should verify this as per figures in the ASCE 7-05.
h) Redundancy Factor : 1
Seismic Code (Building Mounted)
a) Vertical Accelerations: see above
b) Site Class: see above
c) Importance factor: see above
e) S1 : see above
f) Response Modification Coefficient R : see above
g) z/h ratio: 0.6 to 1
h) Amplification Factor, ap: 2.5
h) Redundancy Factor : 1
