Help/Advice Needed! :)

Hello everyone!



I have a question for whoever wants to take a stab.



Without getting too boring and detailed, a group of students is working on a project where we essentially have a trolley (or a sleigh, I guess) that is moving down a grass hill. Currently, it's velocity is too high and we need to slow it down a tad, or create friction with the grass.



Is there any ideas of what we could apply to the rubber underbelly of the sleigh in order to create friction with the grass? We were thinking of coating it with some sort of adhesive but have absolutely no idea what would "stick" to grass.



Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

Flex seal does it all. Mostly kidding on that one. Reports of poor adhesion are too common.

Is the sleigh bottom completely smooth and feature =free ? No grooves, holes etc?

Is some damage to the grass hill acceptable?
Secure one end of a piece of 5 foot piece of chain to the center front of the sleigh.
Position the chain straight back under the sleigh.

Does the velocity need to be consistent run-to-run?

What is the distance traveled per run? less than 100 feet?

Are pyrotechnics etc allowed ?
