Hello,
I have attached a jpg file to this thread. It is a diagram that I quickly created in MS Paint of an aftermarket electrical component. I owned one in the past, It was a small rectangular box which had three terminals. The center was the input from an automotive alternator. The two terminals on opposite ends where labeled "Battery 1" and "Battery 2".
I believe it is used for aftermarket automotive audio systems, so you can listen to music with the vehicle off without having to worry about draining the vehicle battery. It allows you to charge two separate batteries from the same source whilst allowing the batteries to be kept isolated from each other electrically. The attached jpg is to illustrate the flow of electricity. I would like to know the name of this component please. Thank you.

These devices are common for RVs. They allow the RV battery to be used and drained without discharging the vehicle starting battery.
Separate batteries but common charging.
Google "Battery isolator"
Battery Isolator

Thank you. I appreciate the quick reply. Haha, I like how your answer came in a "Fun fact" type format (Now I want a "Snapple"). Of course, this had to be one of the items that is called by a name that is based directly on what it does; which, leads me to feel so smart. :p
