Help menu in Inventor not working correctly

I am trying to use the help from the drop down menu and I am having problems. When I go to the Help menu and select "Help topics", a window opens with a panel at the left and the main window at the right containing all the bulleted items. When I try to select the bulleted items, the only one that works is the first one "Sutodesk Inventor Launchpad". All the other ones result in a message that comes up reading "This option can only function within HTML help".

If anyone here has experienced this problem, please let me know if you came across a solution.

What release? Do you have all service packs and hotfixes installed? Did you dissable virus scanner during install. I have heard other people having this problem but I can't remember exactly what the cause or solution was. Perhaps do a search here

I have Inventor Series 11 with service pack 2 installed. No hot fixes are installed yet but I reviewed those and none are relavent to this issue. Our IT department installed the software on my system so I can only assume that virus scanners were disabled during installation.

I'm all but certain I saw a very specific cause and fix for the problem but I don't recall what is was and don't have the time to do the search myself. Good luck.
