Hello everybody

Please i need help. It is the first time that i work with hyperelastic material and i have too much problems. So i will discribe my model:

i have 3 bodies : one ring (hyperelastic) one bracket and an archwire ( the two are in stainless steel ). the assembly is attached. So the ring will be opened radially and then it will displace normally to the bracket and then returning to its initial state ( it will be inserted into the corners of the bracket).
My problem is that alway i have problems (warnings says that there is axcessive distortion) and the job aborted. THERE IS ALSO a problem in contact.
My questions please are :

- shall i use explicit or standard abaqus???
- what type of contact shall i use????

My guess is that you have unconstrained DOFs. You have several options in this case: include damping, use displacement control instead of a force/pressure loading. You can also use symmetry planes to reduce the problem size and reduce unconstrained DOFs.

Unless there is very large deformation or the dynamics are required I would start in standard. Surface 2 surface contact is where I would begin with friction.

I hope this helps.
