I have recently been dubbed "The Corrosion Engineer" by my employer. This is in addition to my regular duties. I have been given a small training budget, which I want to use wisely and effectively.
My responsibilities are to review the results of our corrosion technician (who has about 3 years experience and is NACE CP level 1 qualified), provide input and feedback based on his results for project scopes, estimates, etc., and the review of design plans for civil infrastructure (buried utilities), tanks, and building structures.
I'm a seasoned civil engineer, but the corrosion thing is new to me. I'm located in the central USA.
Any input on appropriate courses, references, and the like would be greatly appreciated. Other advice such as opportunities that could be opened are also welcome.
Thanks in advance!
