I need to remove methyl and ethyl chlorides from an ethylene gas vent (about 6Mg/h) going back to an ethane cracker. I am trying to find a unit operation to remove these two organic chlorides. Inlet concentration about 1200 ppmw. Could anyone direct me to an appropriate technology or vendor?
We are looking at absorption beds from UOP but nothing is proven for ethylene. We are wondering if a caustic bed might work. I know very little about this stuff. Most things I am finding relate to removal from air streams but not ethylene streams we want to recover. Oxidation won't work as it will destroy the C2=
Any ideas?
