Help Needed: ESE Lightning Rod Conductor/Arrester Device Manufacturing

Hi everyone,

My name is Amaan, and I have a question regarding the ESE Lightning Rod Conductor (or Arrester). We are currently manufacturing ESE lightning rods, but we have encountered a problem with the internal device (semiconductor) that is part of the lightning rod. Unfortunately, the people who used to make this device for us passed away a few weeks ago, and now we’re unable to find any information about how to make it ourselves.

We’ve searched everywhere, but no one seems to know how to make the internal components or what specific materials or technologies are needed to manufacture it.

Can anyone provide some guidance or share any resources on how to make the internal device for the ESE lightning arrester? I would really appreciate any help or advice!

Thank you so much in advance! 🙏

Best,
Amaan

"The principle of an ESE (Early Streamer Emission) lightning conductor/rod, containing Ionization Mechanism is to control a lightning bolt causing it to go certain direction. The ESE rod artificially generates an early upward leader/streamer in the air occurring before the other natural upward leaders from the earth are generated. Thus it establishes a privileged, so to say, arranged impact point of the lightning strike."

It's an electrical circuit - plenty of electrical engineers can reverse engineer it. The most fun would be shipping one of them to Big Clive on the Isle of Man. You can see his videos of analyzing interesting devices at https://www.youtube.com/@bigclivedotcom/videos To get his e-mail address you need to sign into YouTube. He will likely do a reverse engineering of this as it involves ionization - he likes those. He's also on Facebook.

If you are feeling lucky - "Big Clive (Ralphy's Brother), Isle of Man" has apparently worked as a mailing address.

Note that if you just send it without first contacting him, you won't know how long it will take for him to get around to doing so; he's a working professional who does this as a side hobby, so he might not do the work at all.
