Hello all,

Can anyone recommend some reading material for understanding current density for a DC motor (1000 HP range). I've heard some conflicting opinions at work and would like to go to a new source. Searching here and the net has not been fruitful.

Thanks!

Try "Carbon Brushes" by Dr. J. Neukirchen. Translated from German by Erle I. Shobert II.

Also take a look at "Carbon Brushes and Electrical Machines". Published by Morgnaite Carbon Limited.
