Help with my drawing borders please!

I have just created a set of drawing borders and text box to which I will insert into the background on creation of a drawing (without using scrip).

I would like to automatically populate the text in the title blocks with the parameters found in the model (part number, description etc).

The trouble is I have managed to figure out how to link the text using attributes to the model but I would like - for obvious reasons, not to attach the links every time I create a new drawing with a new model. Is there a way that the parameters could be generic. So that I do not have to manually attach attributes which is impractical!

I used to use Solid works and Solid edge and this was possible.

I have only been using Catia for 2 weeks so Im just learning.

Any advice would be appreciated and tell me if I’m barking up the wrong tree! O and if I need to create a scrip please help me on that one to.

Kevin - Two solutions for you

1)

You can open up one of the files and change the company name...

2) If you already have the text and parameters in place use the File --> New From command on a default part with a CATDrawing already associated with it. Since you are new to Catia, Catia uses UUID #'s on every part that is created, simply using save as will not change these numbers. Thus creating some downstream problems.

Perhaps I'm the only one haveing issues with either the solengsol download, or the more up-to-date one you can find on the catiav5forum.

But perhaps I'm not... I haven't been able to get their macros to function on my setup; I always get some error or another (I posted some of my issues on the catia v5 forum). I'd like to know if I'm unique here, or if others have problems getting the macros to work as well.

Well I DL the script, and I am going thru the Acrobat Doc, But as soon as I run the script, I get an error and it tells me to check the V5 Automation API's Documentation for language refrence guide. This is because may be the incident report I always get about a font KANJ, which I still haven't figured it out ho wto disable it. HELP PLEASE!!!

If you are receiving that message, chances are, you have probably tried to import somebody else's border. That font KANJ, from what I've seen, has to do with a particular customer, and they have some knowledgeware processes in place for their title block automation. (which you are separated from when you load their title block) I have no such error when loading my own borders, or creating new drawings.
