Hi everyone,
I'm new to Heat exchanger modelling in HTRI. Can someone please tell me what all inputs from Datasheet and drawing are mandatory to be filled in the software while working in Rating mode?
Also, i have few more queries.
1. In HTRI, i could see property generator tab in both hot fluid and cold fluid sections. But, i have only one Pro-II file. In which section should I plug this Pro-II file?
2. Is the impingement data mandatory to be filled in HTRI?
It will be helpful if someone can provide a detailed step by step instructions guide (concise version) for beginners like me.

Is this an existing unit or a new design that you are modelling?

For rating, you need to enter enough information so that HTRI can calculate a duty. This will then tell you the amount of over or underdesign.
Simulation cases require less info (unknown duty), and gives an expected performance.

From the program settings in HTRI, you can create a link between HTRI and Pro/II so that you can extract properties from your case.

Impingement requirements are based on your heat exchanger design. If it is existing and you have the drawing info, yes put it in.
