Hello,

So, i am new using abaqus and i have an importante question about meshes :

- What´s the difference between a Hex mesh and a Tet Mesh ? How know that one uses cuboids and the other tet elements, but what is the difference in the results ?

Is so much easier to mesh a part with tet´s, no need to partition or do advanced things. In spite of this, all the toturials i see, it´s used hex meshes, why ??

- I am studying heat transfer procedures.

Thank U in advance

Avoid tet meshing unless there is no other option. A hex mesh requires fewer nodes/elements than a tet mesh and the results are more consistent. In general I've found that when you look at the contours produced from a tet mesh then the contours appear to deviate through the elements whereas a hex mesh produces smooth contours. This gives you more confidence that the results aren't mesh dependent.
