Dear MA69 (Mechanical),

Not sure if i fully understand your question..
If you look API 650 Figure 5.12—Flush-Type Cleanout Fittings and Figure 5.14 Flush-type Shell Connection , the joints and applicable type of welds are clearly shown.
My points are,

- 5.7.4 Thermal Stress Relief SHALL be followed
- The shell / insert plate assembly with COD ( Figure 5.12—Flush-Type Cleanout Fittings ) shall be thermally stress-relieved as an assembly prior to installation.
- The joint detail for the bottom reinf. plate with annular plate is full penetration weld (shown at Figure 5.12 sect. d-d )
- I am not sure if your picture comply with acceptable Flush Type Clean-out Fitting Support details Figure 5.13 Method D
- The insp. and tests for the COD assembly are ; Butt welds RT, Neck to flange LPT, VT, Others Door neck to shell and Door neck to pad etc MPT, VT..
- I will suggest you to read API 650 Section 8 and 9 and to look API RECOMMENDED PRACTICE 577 Welding Processes, Inspection..
