Hi..

I am working on a structural analysis of an alternator under rotational forces( Using Optistruct ).
can any one help me in modeling copper winding. Its not possible for me to model all strands and applying contacts.
IOs there any any modeling technique for modeling winding for structural analysis..
All i want find is deflections in the winding due to centrifugal forces. I m reallyt facing a big trouble to model the material for winding as it is difficult to predict the material properties for a copper winding when it is winded.
I am modelling the as a solid block but what material properties to be applied ?...
Please help me ...This is crucial for me.
