Hi,

I have a little doubt about UL method in the fire protection of steel. Is this so-called UL method costlier than the normal BS grade fire rating? Can somebody just explain how is this?

Are you talking about an intumescent coating? They are costly, but, work well. Usually where exposed visually.

I'm at a loss about normal BS grade fire rating.

Yes, intumescent coating. Do u have any idea about the rates for coating as per UL standards being higher than the BS one?

I have no idea about what the BS one is. I've got a couple of articles on intumescent coating... I'll see if I can dig them up... last article was quite positive about them.
