Hi I am a new Engineer and they assign me to review fire code plans, is there any materials that can help me get better in this position, whether its an online course or handbook or anything else

Do you know how to do layout? Main things in review

1 water supply correct
2 density correct for hazard application
3 is construction type identified
4 Make sure the deflector is located at the proper elevation
5 Is spacing correct for the areas in question
6 confirm everything is connected and calcs match plans for sizing

That is a very very basic overview.

If you look in NFPA 13, 14, 15, 72 and probably some others there is a list in each standard about what the minimum amount of information is required on all shop drawings. I'm always surprised how many people do not follow that list when making shop drawings.
