Hi,

I am preparing a material take-off / technical deliver condition for HIC tested plates Also this plate is to be procured for Div.2 job.

1. What all special criteria shall I need to follow while purchasing the HIC tested plates along with the material specification requirements. ( the plate is of material SA 516 Gr. 70 N and SA 387 Gr.11 Cl.2).

2. Which all NACE codes and requirements comes into picture while procuring HIC tested plates.

3. Also can any one tell the lead procurement time of these plates, means what will be the delivery schedule for these HIC tested plates.

Thanks

You will want to apply NACE TM0284, and you may want to specify the dimensional acceptance criteria for the flaw sizes and ratios.

If you are getting existing plate that hasn't been HIC qualified yet, you do run the risk that the ensuing test fails.

Google Prudential's PS-10 and PS-50 specifications. They are quite good.

SNORGY.

Assuming that your material specification has restricted the plate chemistry, then you will need either ISO 15156-2, B.5 (where you need to specify 'Environment A' and whether you require an ultrasonic examination of the coupons before sectioning), or EFC 16, Annex B.
