Is there an easy way to hide all the cosmetic features in an assembly? When in a shaded model the cosmetic features show all the way thru the model, not just the features that would actually be visible?

Thanks,

I guess I didn't explain it well, sorry.

I want the features to show but they show thru the whole assembly. For example: if I have a lable on the inside surface of the unit (sheetmetal enclosure) you can see it thru the outside when your in shaded model, yet in hidden line wire frame they appear hidden as expected. Could it be a graphics card issue?

Thanks again

I don't know if it is a graphic issue or not, but you are right. In shaded mode, the cosmetic on the opposite side odf a solid surface will appear on screen.

You have two solutions to avoid this:

One is to blank the layers of the cosmetic feature.

The second is to use SHADE function from the View Menu. This will sahed the assembly of the current window, no matter if your solid is displayed as wireframe, hidden line, no hidden line or solid. The cometics will dissapear from the view. You can rotate , pan and zoom the assembly and no cosmetic will be shown. This action is valid util you make a refresh.

SHADE function can be found in ProE 2001 under the VIEW top menu, just under the REFRESH. If you use Wildfire (I di not) I think it should be prety much on same area.

I don't know other method to hide the cosmetics in shade mode.
