Dear all colleagues,

I am evaluating the pressure of a closed tank with these conditions:

Two inlets condensate,
first entry: 30 psi, 6600 lbs/hr
second entry: 90 psi, 2200 lbs/hr

Tank volume: 50 gal
Level : half of the tank

outlet: condensate only at the bottom, the steam "stays" in the tank.

Does anybody have experience in a similar situation? I will appreciate any comment.
Thank you in advance,

Kin99

With the information given, the tank will pressurize to 90 psi and the first entry will become an outlet.

It seems to me that you are in the process of designing a "blowdown" tank..... commonly found as an accessory in a boiler house.

You need to vent the pipe to atmosphere. The "tank must be a robust pressure vessel, designed to ASME VIII or a similar vessel code and your inlets should be tangential to the shell of the tank.

I have always found these people to be very helpful:
