I am looking for a high speed Hydraulic motor that is capable of 100,000 RPM. Maximum size for the motor is 4"OD and 6"long. I can not locate a source for these type of motors. If anyone could help, I would be grateful.

What is the application? What is your power requirement 100 000 RPM? Is there a pressure limitation?

I cannot imagine any hydraulic motor that turns anywhere near this fast. Have you considered a pneumatic turbine motor? How about brushless DC motor? Also, as the previous poster asked, what is the power requirement?

You wouldn't happen to be trying to drive a turbocharger compressor using your power steering pump and a hydraulic motor would you?

100,000 PRM for a hydraulic motor does seem rather fast. I've seen them as high as 20,000, so while I'm not saying that there is not a vendor out there that can help (I'd call Eaton Aerospace and Parker). How about mating a lower speed motor and a gearbox? I've had to do that just ot get 120 Hp at 2500 RPM. If anybody knows where I can find a 2500 RPM, 129 Hp motor that weights less then 50 lbs let me know!

No vanes or pistons at that speed. Churning would likely give you substantial temperature rise. I'd look at impinging a fluid stream against a spur gear or similar for speed. Not much torque, but maybe enough for a centrifugal compressor.

An air turbine would work. Also there are Brushless DC or induction motors that can run those RPM's. If that's an option I can suggest sources.

I've seen pneumatic motors run up to 35,000 but nothing higher that i know about. These are in the neighborhood of 1-2 HP. Torque is low though.

Here are a couple of interesting site of very high RPM motors.

The first website is for a 400,000 RPM engraver of which I have 2.

This website is for a 400,000 RPM turbine for a Cryo-Cooler for the Hubble.

This is the website of the people that developed the above turbine.

A company makes a hydraulic turbine for turbocharger drive assistance. You may be able to fine them through the SAE web site.

I'm not too sure of commerical availability of some of this product, Baldor has been rather good with specification I've needed in the past. I'll plug them.
