Hello everyone,
I am currently simulating a reinforced concrete frame in Abaqus Dynamic Explicit using the CDPM model for concrete and C3D8R-elements with enhanced hourglass control. The steel is modelled with a simple elastic-plastic relationship and truss elemens.
The model consists of a beam an two columns tied to a rigid plate and the load (displacement) gets applied via two shell plates at the beam side. Both plates are coupled to a reference point on which I apply the displacement.
Everything is fine if I apply a monotonic load (enhanced hg off). The results match exactly my experimental data, but when I apply the amplitude (smooth step), the stiffness of the structure is way too high. I hope somebody knows a solution for the pronlem.
Thanks in advance!
