Anyone have any experience with using SA-354 or SA-540 bolts for subsea P/L service? Would chloride stress cracking, cad plating, saltwater, or brittleness be an issue? We are looking for an alternative to a 193-B7 stud, we need 29-30 ksi allowable, 3 1/2" Dia.

I have used ASTM A193-B7M stud bolts on subsea valve flanges without problem. However these were coated with a PTFE/Xylan type coating.

Hope this is of use.
