Hi,
I am working on a filtration vessel that will have an operating temperature of 850˚C. The vessel will be constructed of Alloy 800HT. At this temperature the material will have a limited life service because it is in the creep range.
The flange temperature in ASME B16.5 (2009) for this material goes up to 816˚C. Two questions on this,
Is this because the material will be within the creep range above this temperature?
Is it possible to use this material above 816˚C in a flange application?
Thank you,
timlynx
