My client is needing a check valve which can handle 540 degrees Celsius. He has requested for 10 chrome and Moly 910.

My supplier has offered F22.

Would this be okay.

F22 properties at 540C are OK, and for many years ( prior to 1990) that was the material of choice. However, if the component is a large size ( greater than 8" NPS) and the piping is P91 , there would be a large variation in wall thickness between the pipe and the valve's weld end- this can lead to thermal stresses at the butt weld during process startup and shutdown.

Make sure that the F22 valve material is purchased under ASME B16.34 or an equivalent. You can find temperature-pressure ratings for F22 material.
