Problem: High temperature exhaust system routed through an electrically sensitive area.

Need a 30' horizontal section of non-conductive piping material (such as refractory)that will be connected up to 24" diameter carbon steel exhaust pipe on either end.

30' section requirements:

- Piping section should be gas tight at 30 inwg.
- No conductive material within the 30' length
- Suitable for 800F exhaust gases at 6500 FPM.
- Internally resistant to sulfuric acid attack.
- Field fabricated or of modular design.
- Insulated to keep outside surface below 120F.
- Preferrable mounting - slab on grade.

Current design solution: Build a refractory brick lined concrete tube with insulating material between refractory brick and concrete and utilize fiberglass rebar for reinforcing. For pipe connections, embed a steel flange in each end of the concrete tube.

Would like to get suggestions of manufacturers that could design this piping section and any other suggestions for field fabricating and operational pitfalls.

Thank You,
MM

It seems technically achievable, at least from refractory standpoint. But don't know how much it would cost. You may need fiber-reinforced refractory to meet all the requirements.
