We just got SGS's test result from our Hastelloy C276 rods supplier and the test result shows 0.2% of silicon contents in the alloy. The standard spec says the maximum silicon contents is 0.08%.
The spec on the website also says
"The undiluted deposited chemical composition of alloy C-276 covered electrodes has 0.02 percent maximum carbon, 0.20 percent maximum silicon, 0.03 percent maximum phosphorus, and 0.015 percent maximum sulfur"
I think 0.2% of silicon content is acceptable but is this something we need to worry about?
