Hinge Motion 1

I am trying to build an assy model of a casement window. I have a seperate assy model of the hinge which I can rotate through it's operation. When I place that hinge assy into my overall window assy model I cannot rotate the hinge. I can rotate the hinge within it's own assy model but I cannot rotate the hinge within the overall assy model. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Set the sub assy to Adaptive.
