Another hip beam question:
A long 4x12 hip beam (28') is supported by a 4x post at the middle (in a wall) and another at the end. Ofcourse the top is supported by the ridge beam.
For the interior post(where the post will be a few inches above the top plate), is simpson VPA4 the best connector? In order to do this, would the post have be oriented 45 deg in the angle of the hip beam?
Thank you
