Hopefully this is an easy question.
I have an existing 1930 slab, reinforced with a 3/8" dia. Clinton welded wire fabric mesh. I'm trying to determine the tensile strength of the wire. I have a copy of the ASTM A-82 1933 and 1958 standard but not the 1927 that this would likely fall under.
From here: (page 6)
and here: (page 2)
it seems that I should use a value of 50 KSI as a good conservative value for the tensile strength of the WWF. Does anyone have a better number or the original ASTM standard to back this up?
Maine EIT, Civil/Structural. Going to take the 1st part of the 16-hour SE test in October, wish me luck!
