Historical (1965) Concrete Beam & Joist Schedule

I've seen a few of these on here before, none quite like this. Since I haven't done pure concrete design like this I can't even say if this would be a common layout of reinforcing today. In either case, can anyone explain to me how the reinforcement is distributed and where based on the attached schedule? I don't know if the nomenclature indicates two different sized bars in the same layer, single reinforcement with two different bar sizes on opposite ends of the beam meeting in the middle, or something else. Apologies for the quality of the scan.

We used to do more elaborate ones that that, specially for long span beams for parkades way back. Used to stipulate extra top and bottom reinforcing, including lengths, and also the locations for placement.

Could you elaborate on how I should be interpreting that table then? I can understand (3) #8 at btm for example, but the offset 1 1 with different bar sizes is a mystery to me.

Often there's a diagram that goes with the joist and beam tables. Barring that, I'm going to guess the offset 1/1 type numbers indicate left and right end.

Do you have a more clear copy of the schedule? and is there a note at the bottom of the schedule that identifies the content? Schedules that I've done actually have a beam elevation showing T&B bars, extra bars and placement locations for the extra bars...
