hole callouts in dwg

In other 3d packages that I have used you could click on a tapped hole in a drawing and all the info for that tapped hole would be displayed (tap size with thd pitch, drill dia, tap & drill depth and qty of holes), this info was imported to the drawing automatically from the info in the model if the hole was created using the hole creation wizard. I know all this info is contained in the catia models also. Can catia be setup the same way? Currently I have to manually add this information.

Lemme guess, one "other" 3D package was Pro/Engineer. That package was great for kicking out associative drawings quickly and maintaining design intent in the drawings. Catia, UG, Solidworks, all junk IMO.

In your Catia drawing try, Insert, Generation, Generate Dimensions. You should get a dialog box. In the first box I have everything selected. After an OK you should get another dialog box. In this box I pick in the Dimension Analysis in 2D section. After OK, your dimensions should appear.

It's cumbersome and it seems they would rather you just create dimensions in your drawing rather than pulling what is already there in the model, into the drawing. Stupid if you ask me. You're able to violate design intent when you force people to create dimensions in the drawing.
