1. I' m beginner in Solidworks 2001 and I had a problem with inserting holes. I used hole wizard and Solidworks ended to insert 2 holes instead my choice 1 hole. I need an explanation.
2. After making a complex solid in drawing file I can't transfer automatically the dimensions.Only putting again every dimension was possible.
Thank you.

With your drawing current click on Insert in the main menu. Then click on Model Items… In the Insert Model Items dialog box make sure Dimensions is checked. Also check any other box at this time. Click OK. Your dimensions will show up just like you dimensioned them in your models. Bradley

1) By choosing the surface on which you want to use the hole wizard, Solidworks uses that point for its first hole wizard location. It's a bit strange until you get used to it.

If you want only 1 hole, when the dialog box pops up to tell you layout the hole location, do NOT put another point on the face, just dimension to the one that is already there.

2) In addition to Bradley's comment, the dimensions will import into the appropriate views from the plane in which they were created. If you cannot get them into the view you want, bring them into a different view and then <ctrl- drag> a copy of the dimension to the view you want.

But not all dimensions can easily be brought into any view.

Good Luck,

You can also bring in your dimension, feature by feature, by clicking on the feature in the feature manager tree first before "INSERT-INSERT MODEL ITEMS".

Depending on which drawing view in the feature manager tree you highlight the feature from, will be the drawing view on your sheet that all availiable dimensions will import into.

They might be easier to handle this way when your dont get them all at once..

Thank you very much to all
