Hole Patterns

Morning All,

Apologies if this has been answer, but couldn't find anything. I'm doing a hole pattern, and like anything i have two c/bores and two dowel holes. Is there anyway to put a diagonal pattern in? For example my drawing show 1 hole positioned from an edge (datum hole), then one hole positioned at 30mm in X and then 45mm in Y (so a diagonal movement) and the same on the dowels. But i can't seem to find a way. I can suppress the two unwanted holes, but my customer doesn't allow suppressed features.

I know I could rotate the WCS, but there's obviously the calculations that go with it, and when you get angles of 36.5000978 it's not ideal
Any help would be great!

Why not use the sketching functionality available in the hole command? See attached.

Hi, Yes strictly speaking we are not allowed to do that, all holes need to be a pattern/array etc. Although we use check mate, check mate doesn't pick up on that kind of thing, it's just the nonsense PLM rules we have to follow for our customer. Which i understand change from customer to customer.

Picture attached. I've created seperate holes in this instance, but you can see what i'm trying to acheive.

It's too bad that seemingly arbitrary standards do not reflect increased functionality.

For that particular shape you could use a circular array. See attached.

Aaaahh yes i see what you've done there, that's not a bad option to be honest, simple enough to work out the rad etc. Thanks for that, hadn't even crossed my mind! You know talking of standards we can't use 'block' function which i noticed you have used. I'm not slagging you off just saying about the standards side of things, and making things quicker etc.

I seldom use the block function, and then only as the initial feature. It's easier than extruding a rectangular sketch. Same goes for any of the "primitive" features.
