It works fine and it's an attractive option for designing all kinds of stuff that get fastened together.

You can use the the Machinery Library fasteners to create the Hole series features and associations to up to three parts at a time.
A couple of customization's to the part family and this is a powerful and efficient method.

BUT... YOU CANNOT intelligently document the features in drafting.

1. Threaded holes
"Hole Callout"command produces a piece of junk on threaded holes.
"Feature Parameters" command makes something that is barely any better.
Neither one of these outputs are editable or configurable. There is nothing you can do to improve.

2. Counter bored Holes
"Hole Callout" is useless and so is "Feature Parameters"

How do you deploy a tool that cannot be handled professionally on the documentation side of a design?

Rant over... tell me if I'm wrong or missing something because I sure want to be.

You can make all settings for these Hole Callouts in the customer defaults...

These settings don't really help with the feature parameters command.
They're for "Hole Feature" which id useless when "pocket" is used to place the holes for the fasteners in the machinery library
