SW2010 x64 SP4
I am creating some design table driven parts for use in a design automation scheme. Initially, they will Excel driven, but later we plan on implementing on of the KBE front ends like Tacton or KBWorks.
The design table is large. Right now I am on row GT and counting x 21 configurations...so that is 4200 data points, and I have not yet started driving tolerances. There are 223 features in the part.
For now..I have a big problem. I want to drive blind tapped holes with the design table:
Naming conventions:
The Hole Wizard is located on 'Feature1'
Hole Wizard Feature is named 'Feature1: Hole Wizard'
The hole detail sketch is called 'Feature1 Hole Details: Sketch'
Parameters driven by Design Table:
$STATE@Feature1: Hole Wizard
$HW-SIZE@Feature1: Hole Wizard
Tap Drill Dia.@Feature1 Hole Details: Sketch
Tap Drill Depth@Feature1 Hole Details: Sketch
Drill Angle@Feature1 Hole Details: Sketch
OK...here is the problem. Say the current Parameters are:
State - U
Size - 1/2-13
Tap Drill Dia - .4219
Tap Drill Depth - .75
Drill Angle: 135
I go to the design table, and change them to:
State - U
Size - 5/8-11
Tap Drill Dia - .5311
Tap Drill Depth - .875
Drill Angle: 135
Note...I picked .5311 instead of .5312 or .5313 for a reason...to double check if it is actually pulling the data from the DT....
When I close the Design Table, and check the details, here is what I find:
Size - 5/8-11
Tap Drill Dia - .5312
Tap Drill Depth - 1.075
Drill Angle: 135
So the Tap Drill Dia was not driven by my DT. The tap size was...and SW used the HW to pick the drill size, instead of using the dimension in the DT..... SW also ignored my depth dimension.
Here is where it is strange. If you go back in to the DT...then close it...then go back to check the values in the Hole Wizard...it will have adjusted the depth to the .875" from the DT...but the tap drill is still .5312 instead of the .5311 from my DT.
Go back again...and the depth jumps back to 1.075!
Go back again and the depth goes back to .875 per my DT!
It toggles back and forth just by opening and closing the DT!
Anyone know how to fix this absurd behavior?
