Hi guys,
I have a question about the distance marked in the picture attached to this post, do exist a minimum distance?
I have a 5cm "seat" to support the HC slab before the second phase pouring of the beam and I want to know if I have to shore the slab or the 5cm is enough.

What do you think?

Check the allowable bearing stress in your code.

Where I've done IT beam precast work:

1) The ledges are usually 5" wide.

2) I believe that the minimum bearing on steel is 2.5".

3) I believe that the minimum bearing on CMU is 3.5".

2" feels a bit narrow to me.

I agree with the 5" bearing seat being extremely typical. 2" seat with a 1" gap at each end leaves the opportunity for the plan to fall through opening hole when the guys are wiggling it around on site.
