Hopefully simple sheetmetal question

I've created a sheetmetal part - basically a rectangle - then added 90deg. edge flanges to three sides of the rectangle. I then added edge flanges to these (folded same direction) and then to these, edges flanges folded in the opposite direction. All is well; the part flattens beautifully.

I added it into my assembly and edited it in context to get a couple of cut-outs in desired places (two circular ones in flange 1 and one in flange 3). When I went back into the part, the sheetmetal wouldn't flatten.

I'm not quite sure why, as I'm sure I've done similar things before! What have I done wrong?

For the best help please post the part. We can speculate, but faster, more accurate help comes when we have a better understanding of the situation.

When in the formed state, expand the Flat-Pattern1 feature and then unsuppress all the Flatten features within.

The Flatten tool should then work correctly.

Utterly beautiful... That worked perfectly. Thank you so much! What's the reason for this happening, just so I know what to avoid in future!

I have no idea why those features were suppressed. Maybe just a system glitch or something you (or someone else) had done when creating the other configs.

FYI, you could have created the flanges in one feature using the Mitre Flange tool.

I'm the only one working on it, so it'll likely be me. It's ok - I can take it when it's at this stage of the design!

Thanks for the tip as well. Will try that in future.
