I have been asked to design two different frames and connections for some interior doors. The first design is for hanging toilet partitions where the frames connect to the bottom of an overhead beam and are also attached at the back wall for stability. The second design is for a metal rolling door attached at the top to an overhead roller system and guided at the bottom. I have the weights of all the pieces, but I'm not sure what type of horizontal force to apply to both of these. The only thing I see in the codes (IBC 2012, 1607.14) is a 5 psf load for partition walls. Is this sufficient?
Thanks!
