I'm looking for hot air piping design criteria. Astcually we have Anti Icing pipe line with max. 19.5 bar and 450°c. The material is stainless steel and My main question is are we forced to use seamless pipes or no?
Tanks for any reply.

RE,

What you have to do is design the piping system in accordance with some code or standard......in the USA it would be ASME B31.1. There is no simple answer to your question.

B31.1 requires the designer to establish a pipe size, select a material type, calculate wall thickness, then determine the best ASTM pipe specification (seamless or seamed) from a group of approved standards.

With 19.5 bar and 450°c, the ice will not be around for a long time....
