Hi,
I have to design how to solder some very narrow double layer flex to another PCB by hot bar soldering process. The flex should have the same width at the and and cannot be widened and, also, cannot have a rigid PCB area at the end.
Is it possible at all? How to bring two layers of conductive tracks to solder pads on one side of the flex?
Sorry if I'm asking a stupid thing, I'm a mechanical engineer who needs to integrate a PCB into a mechanical design...
Thanks,
Max

Sounds like a simple design for an EE to handle... the "top" side of flex traces end, say, 0.2" before the end of the flex and terminate in pads on the top side. The "bottom" side of flex traces end, say, 0.1" before the end of the flex and terminate in pads, also on the top side. Hot press per usual to matching pads on rigid PCB.
